Water Cycle School Project Science| model | experiments for students | best out of waste

Introduction

In this post, I am making the concept of water cycle very easy as it required to be understood for school kids

Major part of the earth is covered with water in the form of oceans. The water doesn’t stay existent just like that but goes through a cycle of movement in, on and above the earth. It changes its form from liquid to vapor, vapor to ice and again to water.

This is a continuous process that has been running on the earth for past billion years and is called water cycle.

The process starts from the sun producing heat to evaporate the ocean’s water into the air and the air currents move this vapor into the atmosphere.

These will be condensed into clouds at cooler temperatures.

Next is the process where the clouds collide in the sky to fall out of the sky as precipitation. Later, the precipitation falls off into the oceans, rivers and ground as rain. And this cycle repeats continuously as a natural process.

In this video, we are going to show an easy way to build a DIY water cycle project for your school science exhibition. The materials used in the video are easily available at your home and it is a lot of fun to create this.

Water Cycle is also known as a hydrological cycle where the water is in continuous movement on, above and below the surface of the earth.

water cycle model

The water moves from one place to place such as rive to the ocean or from ocean to atmosphere in the physical process of evaporation, condensation, precipitation, infiltration, surface runoff and subsurface flow.

In this post, we clearly show you how to make this water cycle model school science project for your science exhibitions or fairs.

By looking at the steps in the video you can easily make the water cycle model easily at home completely free.

You can pick the thermocol or cardboard to do this model. We have picked the cardboard to perform this 3rd model in our video

Materials Used

  • Color Paper
  • Card Board
  • Thread
  • Mulberry chart paper(for water)
  • Chart Paper
  • Glue Gun/Stick
  • Favicol
  • Scissor
  • Cutter

Refer the resources/tools page section to find out where you buying it at reasonable cost.

Questions?

1. What is water cycle?

The water moves from one place to place such as rive to the ocean or from ocean to atmosphere in the physical process of evaporation, condensation, precipitation, infiltration, surface runoff and subsurface flow.

2.How many steps in water cycle?

4 Steps – Precipitation, Evaporation, Condensation, and Transpiration

3. What is precipitation?

Precipitation is the process in which the water is released as rain from the clouds after the air currents push the vapor into the atmosphere from the air.

4.In what way are plants involved in the water cycle?

  • In this continuous process of water cycle, not only the oceans but also the humans and plants are also involved. The plants also release water in the form of transpiration from bottom of the leaves as well as the soil it is in.

5.What is Sublimation?

  • The process of converting from snow or ice to water vapor without melting is called as sublimation. Sublimation occurs in weather conditions of low humidity and dry winds.

6.What is condensation?

  • The process of conversion from vapor to liquid is called condensation. In simple terms, it is the rain that pours down from the clouds.

Conclusion

The water cycle is the complete process by which water circulates around the Earth. This model shows you how this water circulates in the atmosphere via evaporation -> precipitation -> Runoff –> groundwater

Water cycle is also called as the hydrologic cycle, which is the reason one of the reasons for the rains and the water to sustain on earth. The water cycle can be majorly affected by weather condition.
