This model demonstrates two sources of renewable energy: solar power and wind power.
The solar panel on the roof (simulated by a 9V battery) powers the light inside the house, showing how sunlight can generate electricity.
On the other side, the wind turbine generates electricity by spinning the fan blades, which powers the LED.
This project shows how clean energy sources can reduce pollution and help power our homes sustainably.
Materials Required:
- Cardboard (for base and structures)
- Color paper (for decoration)
- 9V battery and battery clip
- LED light (white/yellow)
- Small DC motor
- Fan blades or plastic propeller (for wind turbine)
- Small solar panel (optional if available)
- Wires
- On/Off switch
- Hot glue or tape
- Small house cutout or building model
1. Solar Energy Section:
- Place a cardboard house.
- Fix a solar panel on the roof (or represent it with color paper and connect to LED via 9V battery).
- LED light glows inside the house using solar power (simulated with the battery for demo purposes).
2. Wind Energy Section:
- Create a windmill tower using cardboard.
- Attach DC motor with fan blades to act as a wind turbine.
- Blowing air on the blades (or rotating by hand) spins the DC motor to generate electricity and glow an LED.

Step 1: Create Base Layout
- Take a rectangular cardboard base and divide into two halves: solar energy and wind energy.
Step 2: Build Solar House
- Make a small house from cardboard.
- Stick colored paper solar panel on roof.
- Connect an LED inside the house to a 9V battery through a switch (simulate sunlight).
Step 3: Build Wind Turbine
- Make a windmill stand using rolled cardboard.
- Fix DC motor on top.
- Attach small fan blades to DC motor shaft.
- Connect DC motor wires to an LED.
- When fan rotates, LED glows due to generated electricity.
Step 4: Wiring and Testing
- Connect circuits neatly under the base or behind cardboard using tape/glue.
- Make sure LEDs glow when each section operates.
Step 5: Decoration
- Use color paper to make grass, clouds, sun, etc.
- Label: “Solar Power”, “Wind Power”, and “Renewable Energy”.
