how to make Linear Equations Match Board using LED lights

This is a Linear Equations Match Board using LED lights.
When we match an equation with its correct solution using wires, the circuit is completed, and the LED lights up.

This helps in understanding the concept of solving equations and checking answers instantly in an interactive and visual way.

Materials Required:

  • Cardboard sheet (as base)
  • LED lights (Red/Green preferred)
  • Wires
  • 9V Battery and battery clip
  • Switch (optional)
  • Buzzer (optional for sound indication)
  • Small metal nails or brass pins
  • Paper strips for linear equations and solutions
  • Glue, marker, tape

Video steps on How to Make the Model:

Step 1: Prepare the Base

  • Divide the cardboard into two vertical sections:
    • Left side: write equations
    • Right side: write answers

Step 2: Insert Pins

  • Insert metal nails/pins under each equation and solution. These will be connection points for the circuit.

Step 3: Wiring and LED

  • Behind the board, connect matching pairs with wires and a series LED + resistor + battery circuit.
  • If a student connects the correct equation to its solution using a wire, the circuit completes and LED glows.

Step 4: Add a Switch (Optional)

  • Use a switch to power the board only when needed.

Step 5: Decoration & Labelling

  • Label clearly: “Match the Linear Equation to its Solution”.
  • Decorate using math symbols, graphs, or arrows for an engaging look.
