Introduction:

Swachh Bharat mission also known as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a campaign in India that has been started by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The time that has been set for this campaign is 2014 – 2019 as a mission to clean the streets, roads and infrastructure of India’s towns, cities and rural areas. The aim of this mission is for a cleaner India.

This is to specifically concentrate on the rural areas and the areas in India where there is no awareness about some human activities that lead to health issues and various other environmental problems.

The main objectives of this mission include eliminating open defecation through the construction of house toilets and public toilets, banning littering and throwing wastes on the roads openly through the use of dustbins where ever possible on the roads.

A. The aim of Swachh Bharat is to eliminate open defecation, maintaining cleaner roads and maintaining hygienic environment.

A. Swachh Bharat mission also called as cleaner India mission has been started by Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. He has been elected as the prime minister in the year 2014 as part of the elections process.

So, rules have been set down to reduce the use of plastic in what ever way possible.

A. As a urban citizen, it is our responsibility to spread awareness about the mission and follow the rules set by the mission. Even if it is smallest contribution like carrying a cloth bag while shopping, separating the wet waste and dry waste and been mindful to throw the waste in the dustbins arranged on the roads etc.

Swachh Bharat mission has been a huge success so far as we can see many people have been actively participating in the mission and creating awareness about the true use of it.

People have realized the importance of clean city for a safer environment. For this, we really need to applaud and appreciate our Prime Minister Narendra Modi for starting this mission.
