This model shows how contaminated water causes several dangerous diseases. As the platform rotates, it displays different water borne diseases like Cholera, Typhoid, Hepatitis A, etc.

Materials Needed:
- Cardboard sheet (for base and rotating disc)
- Thick straw or small PVC pipe (for central rotating rod)
- Skewer stick / Metal rod (to rotate the base)
- Color papers (blue, white, etc.)
- Printouts / Handmade drawings of water borne diseases (like Cholera, Typhoid, Diarrhea, Hepatitis A, Dysentery, etc.)
- Glue, Fevicol, Scissors
- Sketch pens/Markers (for labeling)
- Small DC motor (optional, if you want automatic rotation)
- 9V battery and switch (if using motor)
- Decorative materials (optional, like cotton for clouds, blue sheet for river, etc.)
Step-by-Step Video Instructions:
- Prepare the Base:
- Cut a large round circle from a strong cardboard sheet (around 25–30 cm diameter).
- Decorate the base with blue color paper to symbolize water.
- Create the Rotating Platform:
- Take another smaller round cardboard (20 cm) — this will rotate.
- Fix a central straw/PVC pipe vertically on the large base (fixed firmly).
- Insert a skewer stick or metal rod through the small cardboard disc’s center, and pass it through the straw.
- Now, your top disc will rotate manually (or by a small motor if you want).
- Design the Disease Sections:
- Divide the rotating disc into equal sections (like a pie chart).
- In each section, stick:
- Name of the water-borne disease
- Cause (contaminated water, poor sanitation)
- Symptoms
- Prevention tips
- Small diagram or illustration
- Cholera: Severe diarrhea, dehydration — caused by Vibrio cholerae — Prevent: drink boiled water.
- Typhoid: High fever, weakness — caused by Salmonella typhi — Prevent: eat hygienic food.
- Add Title and Labels:
- On the top of the base, add a large title “Water Borne Diseases”.
- Label the fixed base as “Contaminated Water Source” (you can add drawings of dirty rivers, tanks).
- (Optional) Add Motor:
- If you want auto-rotation, connect a slow-speed DC motor below the rotating disc, attached to a 9V battery and switch.
- Final Decoration:
- Use cotton to show clouds ☁️.
- Stick cutouts of factories discharging waste into water.
- Show houses, water tanks, or wells affected.
