This model shows the contrast between afforestation and deforestation.
On this side, afforestation is shown where more trees are planted. It supports biodiversity, maintains the water cycle, reduces pollution, and keeps the Earth cool.

On the other side, deforestation is shown. Trees are cut down for construction, farming, or industries, which causes loss of wildlife, air pollution, and climate change.
This model reminds us to protect forests and plant more trees to save the environment.
Materials Required:
- Large cardboard base (to divide into two sides)
- Green color paper (for grass, trees)
- Brown paper or sticks (tree trunks)
- Cotton (for clouds or smoke)
- Toy animals, birds (optional)
- Dried twigs, black paper (to show burnt/cleared forest)
- Glue, scissors, sketch pens
- Labels: “Afforestation”, “Deforestation”, “Plant Trees”, “Save Forests”
Model Making Video Steps:
Step 1: Prepare the Base
- Use a cardboard base and divide it into two equal halves.
- Label one side as “Afforestation”, the other as “Deforestation”.
Step 2: Create the Afforestation Side
- Make paper trees using green paper for leaves and brown paper for trunks.
- Add toy animals or birds to show biodiversity.
- Use blue paper to show clean rivers or ponds.
- Add a “Plant Trees – Save Earth” label.
Step 3: Create the Deforestation Side
- Glue dried twigs, cut-out stumps, or blackened trees.
- Add cotton to show smoke or pollution.
- Draw or stick pictures of soil erosion, homeless animals.
- Add “Stop Cutting Trees”, “Climate Crisis” labels.
