Step By Step Guide on making of biogas plant model using cardboard
Creating a simple biogas plant model using cardboard can be a fun and educational project. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you make one:
Materials You’ll Need:
- Cardboard sheets
- Craft knife (for adult supervision)
- Glue or adhesive tape
- Plastic bottle (1 or 2-liter size)
- Plastic tubing (clear)
- Clay or playdough
- Small container or cup
- Marker or paint (for decoration)
Step 1: Prepare Your Workspace
Find a clean and spacious area to work on your project. Lay down some newspaper or an old tablecloth to protect your work surface.
Step 2: Create the Base of the Biogas Plant
- Take a piece of cardboard and draw a large circle on it. This will be the base of your biogas plant.
- Cut out the circle using scissors.
Step 3: Build the Digester Chamber
- Take another piece of cardboard and draw a rectangle on it. This will be the digester chamber of your biogas plant.
- Cut out the rectangle.
- Roll the rectangle into a cylinder shape and glue or tape the edges together to create a tube.
- Glue or tape the bottom of the cylinder onto the center of the cardboard circle you cut in Step 2.
Step 4: Create the Gas Holder (Balloon) Mechanism
- Take your plastic bottle and remove the cap.
- Cut off the top part of the bottle, leaving the bottom part (the part where you drink from).
- Stretch the neck of the balloon over the mouth of the bottle.
- Secure the balloon in place with a rubber band or tape.
- Attach a piece of clear plastic tubing to the neck of the balloon. Make sure it’s airtight.
- Insert the other end of the tubing into the top of the digester chamber (the open end of the cylinder). Seal it tightly with glue or tape.
Step 5: Make the Inlet and Outlet Pipes
- Cut two smaller pieces of clear plastic tubing.
- Attach one tube to the top of the cylinder (the digester chamber) as the gas outlet.
- Attach the other tube to the side of the cylinder as the inlet for feeding waste materials.
- Make sure both tubes are securely attached with glue or tape.
Step 6: Decorate Your Biogas Plant Model
Use markers or paint to decorate your biogas plant model. You can add labels and colors to make it look more realistic and visually appealing.
Step 7: Add Waste and Water
