INTRODUCTION
In this topic, we are going to show you how to build a satellite communication model at home for your science project or exhibitions.
This homemade satellite communication science project is done using materials like cardboard, papers, color, paint and hot glue gun which is easily available at home at low cost.
How Satellite communication works
Communications satellite relays and amplifies radio telecommunications signals through the transponder.
It helps to create a communication channel between a source transmitter and a receiver at different locations on Earth.
They are used for television, telephone, radio, internet and military applications. They use a wide range of radio and microwave frequencies.
Advantages of Satellite Communication
Big advantages are the cost does not increase if the user or receiving sites increases or distance between communication points
Disadvantages of Satellite Communication
- Very Expensive
- Unreliable Signals
- High Maintainance

How to make a satellite model with waste material for a school project at home step by step video?
In this video, we will show steps by step video instructions on how to build a satellite communication model at home easy way.
First, take two empty rectangular shape soapbox and apply fevicol to it and stick them together is such a way that one is above another and ensure that there is one small hole at the bottom of the box.
Apply fevicol and stick it with yellow color paper.
Take thin cardboard, draw two rectangular shapes and cut it. Color them with black color along with a long stick that is also colored in black.
Border the rectangles with white color paper to form panels. Create two circular cylinders and glue it with a circle at the base as shown in the video.
Take two circles and cut at one side small and fold to form dish. Cut small pieces of straw and connect it to dish with hot glue.
Pass the black colored stick through the yellow color rectangular box and glue two circular cylinders and both the ends. To either ends of long stick glue the black panels.
Now stick both the antennas to either side of the yellow box to complete the satellite.
Take large rectangular shaped cardboard, apply fevicol and stick light blue color paper as boards to it and finally paste a map inside the monitor.
Take two rectangular shape cardboards and stick them together and wrap it with blue color paper to form the stand for the monitor. Stick the monitor to the stand with the help of hot glue.
Stick one antenna to the small house. Take large rectangular shape cardboard and paint it with green color and create a road on the same.
Stick monitor withstand one side and stick a long pole and attach satellite communicator to it. Next place the small house with a dish on it next to the long pole. This completes the communicator model.

Questions & Answers on satellite communication
1. What do you mean by satellite communication?
They are used for mobile phone signals, weather tracking, or broadcasting television program and also relay receive signals from an earth station and then retransmit the signal to other earth stations
2. What is the role of satellite in communication?
It plays a vital role in the global telecommunications system.
3. What is the importance of the satellite?
Satellites circle around the earth and relay weather conditions and forecasts to us.
Conclusions
