how to make respiratory system working model school science project step by step

INTRODUCTION

In this topic, we are going to show you how to make a homemade respiratory system or 3D lung model for your science project or exhibitions.

Respiratory System Explanation

Respiratory system model

Human respiratory system is made up of a series of organs which are responsible for taking in oxygen and expelling carbon dioxide.

The respiratory system is primarily made up of organs like lungs which are mainly used to carry out the exchange of gases as we breathe.

RBC (Red Blood Cells) collects oxygen from the lungs and it to various parts of the human body.

RBC collects carbon dioxide and transports it back to the lungs from where it leaves the body when we exhale.

Human body needs oxygen to sustain. Decrease of oxygen is called hypoxia and complete lack of oxygen is known as anoxia and it could be fatal to the human being.

Approximately about four minutes without oxygen, brain cells begin to die which leads to brain damage and ultimately death.

Average breathing rate depends on age. Newborns breathing rate is 40 times each minute and can be between 20 to 40 times per minute when the baby is sleeping.

Adult respiratory rate is about 12 to 16 breathes per minute however during physical exercise it will be average 45 breaths per minute.

How to Build An Respiratory System Model Step by Step Video

In this video, we will show you the following steps and items that can be used to build 3D respiratory system OR LUNG model at home by taking help freely from your parents.

Materials Used to Build the Respiratory System Model

  • White Chart Paper
  • Color Papers
  • Card Board
  • Straws
  • Pencil
  • Fevicol
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Waste Boxes to get cardboard
  • Scissor to Cut
  • Balloons

Prepare for Science Fair Questions & Answers – Respiratory System Model

  1. What are the types of respiration?
Types of respirations are “aerobic” and “anaerobic”. Aerobic requires oxygen and releases a lot of energy whereas anaerobic does not require oxygen hence releases less energy.
  2. What are the different types of breathing?
Different types of breathing are Diaphragmatic, Clavicular and Thoracic breathing.
  3. What are the parts of the respiratory system?
The respiratory system is made up of 3 major parts namely lungs, airway and muscles of respiration.
  4. What is the most basic function of respiration?
Respiration system’s main function is the exchange of oxygen from the atmosphere for carbon dioxide which is produced by cells of the human body.
  5. What is respiration?
Respiration is a process during which cells of the organism take energy by combining oxygen and glucose and releasing carbon dioxide and water.

Conclusions

The respiratory system very imports part of the human body as it helps in generating energy which is used by various parts of the human body.
