Life Cycle of a Cockroach Model for School science exhibition

Introduction:

Cockroaches before they develop completely go through three stages. The life cycle of the cockroach spans six months to one year to complete. Usually, the female cockroach lays 20-40 eggs.

The mother cockroach carries her eggs in a sac called as ootheca. Most of the cockroaches are oviparous.

It means that the eggs are outside the mother’s body and after six to eight weeks they emerge as nymphs from the case. These nymphs are white in colour.

They feed on the food at home and slowly grow into the adult brown cockroaches. The adult cockroaches live up to 2 years.

While all the cockroaches complete all the three stages of the life cycle, there are few things that differ in the life cycle with different species of the cockroaches.
