how to make Solar System Working Model with LED Lights

This project will demonstrate the solar system using LED lights, a rotating mechanism (optional), and materials like cardboard, color paper, and small balls. The LED lights will represent the Sun and planets to make the model interactive and visually appealing.

Materials Required:

Cardboard (Base & Background) – For mounting the planets
Color Paper/Paint – For decorating planets and space
Small Foam Balls (or Plastic Balls) – For planets
LED Lights – For the Sun & planets
9V Battery & Wires – To power the LEDs
Switch & Resistors – To control the lights
Glue Gun & Tape – For fixing components
Sketch Pens & Labels – For naming planets

Steps to Make the Model:

1. Create the Base & Background

Take a large cardboard sheet and cover it with black color paper (to represent space).
Use white paint or stickers to create stars and galaxies in the background.
Draw circular orbits using a white marker to indicate planet paths.

2. Make the Planets

Take small foam or plastic balls and paint them according to their real colors:

  • Sun – Yellow/Orange (Large ball, add LED inside)
  • Mercury – Gray
  • Venus – Yellowish-White
  • Earth – Blue & Green
  • Mars – Reddish-Brown
  • Jupiter – Orange with White Stripes
  • Saturn – Pale Yellow with a Ring (Made from cardboard)
  • Uranus – Light Blue
  • Neptune – Dark Blue

Stick the planets onto the orbits drawn on the cardboard base.

3. Add LED Lights to Planets

Drill small holes in the planets and insert LEDs inside.
Use wires to connect the LEDs to a 9V battery.
Attach a switch to control when the planets light up.

Special Effect: Place a bright yellow LED inside the Sun to make it glow!

5. Add a Rotating Mechanism

Attach the planets to thin sticks connected to a motor for rotation.
Use a small DC motor and a battery to create movement.
