How to make English Grammar Working Model on Types of Verbs

Objective:

To create an interactive working model that helps students understand and match different types of verbs (e.g., action verbs, linking verbs, helping verbs, etc.) using LED lights, a 9V battery, a buzzer, and conductive materials.

Materials Required:

  1. LED lights (different colors for added visual appeal)
  2. 9V battery and battery clip
  3. Buzzer
  4. Nails or conductive pins
  5. Wires (to connect the circuit)
  6. Cardboard or wooden board (as the base)
  7. Printed or handwritten examples of types of verbs
  8. Labels for types of verbs (e.g., Action Verb, Linking Verb)
  9. Resistors (to protect LEDs)
  10. Copper tape or conductive wires for connections

Steps to Build English Grammar Working Model on Types of Verbs:

  1. Prepare the Board:
    • Divide the board into two sections:
      • Left Side: Types of verbs (e.g., Action Verb, Linking Verb, Helping Verb).
      • Right Side: Examples of sentences demonstrating these types (e.g., “He runs fast” for Action Verb, “She is happy” for Linking Verb).
  2. Set Up Nails or Pins:
    • Insert nails or conductive pins under each type of verb on the left side and each sentence example on the right side.
  3. Create the Circuit:
    • For each pair (type of verb and its example):
      • Connect the nails using wires.
      • Include an LED and a buzzer in the circuit.
      • Use resistors to limit the current for the LEDs.
    • Connect all circuits to the 9V battery.
  4. Ensure Match Concept:
    • Only the correct match (e.g., “Action Verb” to “He runs fast”) should complete the circuit. Use diodes or unique wire paths to prevent incorrect matches.
  5. Test the Connections:
    • Ensure that:
      • Correct matches light up the LED and sound the buzzer.
      • Incorrect matches do not complete any circuit.

How It Works:

  1. Students connect a wire or clip from a type of verb on the left to its matching example on the right.
  2. Upon a correct match:
    • LED lights up and buzzer sounds, providing feedback.
  3. Incorrect matches produce no response.
