Simple Balloon Water Boat for Science Experiment on Air pressure

Introduction:

In this post we learn how does a ballon boat works and this project is morely meant for school students which works on the air pressure concept very simple terms, water boat is a vessel that supplies fresh water to the ships. Water boats come in various sizes and shapes which are used for different purposes of water.

Small boats are found basically in rivers and lakes.

Big boats are seen in the oceans that are used by the ships for carrying the cargo and aboard a ship. In the earliest times, boats were used as the mode of transportation to move from one place to another over water.

They were primarily built with the help of wood and animal skins. But now, there are many types of boats made of different materials based on their use.

In this video, we show how to make a model of water boat at home using very simple materials available at home.

Materials Used:

  1. Thermacol
  2. Knife to cut the therma col
  3. Straw
  4. Balloon
  5. Marker
  6. Chopstick or stick
  7. Thread
  8. Water in a small tub

You use the resource/tools page section to find the tips where you can buy these materials used at a reasonable cost.

Questions and Answers:

  1. What is the purpose of a water boat?

A. A boat is used for various purposes depending up on its size and material it is made of. Small size boats are used in the rivers and lakes for recreational purposes or mode of transport to move to another place. And huge boats are used to aboard a ship.

2) What are the types of water boats?

A. There are many types of water boats made today, motor boats, water sports boats, fishing boats etc. Also, depending on the use, there are two types of boats, salt water boats and fresh water boats.

3) How does a boat float on water? What is the process called as?

A. Boats displace its weight on water, irrespective of the material and size. When weight is added to the boat, it can retain it only up to the capacity of the hull. This is called as buoyancy. If it exceeds the volume of the boat, it drowns.

4) What are the uses of water boats?

A. There are basically two types of water boats, salt water boats and fresh water boats. The salt water boats are used to carry salt water to the ships and fresh water boats are used to carry frsh water to the ships. The life expectancy of the salt boats is less when compared to the fresh water boats.

Conclusion:

There are many ways of boat propulsion.  A man propels a boat by rowing, paddling and setting pole. Boats are also pushed forward by engine, sterns, paddle wheel, outboard motor, water jet and fan.
