In this video, we show how to make an Interactive Types of Polynomials Model using LED lights, metal nails, wires, and a cardboard base.
This working model helps students easily identify Monomial, Binomial, and Trinomial expressions in a fun and touch-activated way.

When the student touches the nail beside an expression →
The correct LED glows:
- Monomial LED
- Binomial LED
- Trinomial LED
How the Model Works (Touch-Activated LED System)
Materials Needed
- Cardboard base
- Color papers
- 10 metal nails
- 3 LED lights (red, green, yellow or any colors)
- Wires
- 9V battery
- Fevicol / tape
- Sketch pens for decoration
- Safety switch (optional)
- Each expression has a metal nail near it.
- All nails are connected to the LED that matches the type of polynomial.
- All monomial nails → go to Monomial LED
- All binomial nails → go to Binomial LED
- All trinomial nails → go to Trinomial LED
- When a nail is touched → the finger completes the circuit.
- The correct LED glows instantly.
This helps students understand polynomials by number of terms.
