how to make afforestation (planting trees) and deforestation(cutting trees) model

This model will compare afforestation (planting trees) and deforestation (cutting trees) using color paper, cardboard, and dried plant stems. It will effectively show the impact of human activities on forests and the environment.

Materials Required:

Cardboard (for the base and background)
Color paper (for trees, sky, and soil)
Dried plant stems (for real tree effects)
Sketch pens & paints (for details and labels)
Cotton (for clouds and pollution effects)
Scissors, glue, and tape

Steps to Make the Model:

1. Divide the Base (Two Sections)

  • Take a large cardboard as the base.
  • Draw a vertical line in the center to separate:
    • Left Side: Afforestation (Healthy Forest)
    • Right Side: Deforestation (Destroyed Forest)

2. Afforestation Side (Green & Healthy Area)

Cover the ground with green color paper to show lush land.
Stick paper trees & dried plant stems to represent a dense forest.
Add paper cutouts of people planting trees.
Place birds, deer, and rabbits to show wildlife thriving.
Use cotton for white clouds to indicate clean air.
Draw a river/lake with blue paper for a fresh water source.

3. Deforestation Side (Destroyed & Polluted Area)

Cover the ground with brown and black color paper to show dry, dead land.
Use dried plant stems with missing leaves to show chopped trees.
Stick cut tree stumps (made of small cardboard circles).
Draw smoke and fire using cotton + gray/red sketch pens.
Cut paper factories and vehicles emitting black smoke.
Place dead animals or people suffering from air pollution.

4. Create a Clear Comparison

  • Attach a big title at the top: “Afforestation vs. Deforestation”.
  • Use arrows to indicate positive & negative effects.
  • Add a “Solution” label in the middle: “Plant More Trees! Save the Earth!
