Introduction
Waste management has become one of the most urgent issues of modern life. To build a clean and healthy environment, waste must be segregated at the source. In India and many other countries, the government has introduced a 4-color dustbin system for easy segregation:
- Green Dustbin → Biodegradable waste (food, vegetable peels, garden waste).
- Blue Dustbin → Recyclable dry waste (paper, plastic, cardboard, metals).
- Red Dustbin → Hazardous waste (sanitary products, chemicals, e-waste).
- Yellow Dustbin → Biomedical waste (hospital waste, bandages, masks, syringes).
This project creates a working model of four dustbins using paper cups and ice cream sticks. Each dustbin is designed with push and pull mechanisms to make it interactive and educational. The model not only teaches scientific concepts but also spreads awareness about the importance of waste segregation.
