When does Lunar eclipse Occur?
When the Moon passes through the Earth’s shadow then lunar eclipse occurs. It takes place only during the full moon when it is on the far side of the earth from the sun.
This can be viewed from nearly an entire hemisphere. It lasts for a longer period of time taking several hours to complete with totality itself usually averaging anywhere from about 30 minutes to an hour.
