States of matter model(molecule arrangement in solid, liquid & gas)

INTRODUCTION

In this topic, we are going to show you how to build a state of matter model for your science project or exhibitions.

States of matter model(molecule arrangement in solid, liquid & gas)

What is Matter?

Matter can exist in one of the distinct forms named as a state of matter.

4 states of Matter

There are four states of matter named as solid, liquid, gas and plasma.

What are 7 states of matter

There are many other intermediate states such as liquid crystal and few states exist under extreme conditions such as neutron-degenerate matter, quark-gluon plasma, and Bose-Einstein condensates. More information these 3 additional state

Qualitative differences in properties help to distinguish the state of matter. Solid state matters have fixed shape and volume with component particles close together and fixed into place.

What is Liquid State Matter?

Liquid state matter has a variable shape that adapts to fit its container and has a fixed volume. Here particles are close together and but move freely.

What is Gas State of Matters?

Gaseous state matters have both variable shape and volume which helps both to adapt to fit in the container. Here particles are neither fixed in place nor close together.

What is Plasma State Matters?

Plasma state matter has variable shape and volume, contains a large number of ions and electrons, neutral atoms which can move around freely.

Constituent particles (Atoms, molecules or ions) are very closely packed together and force between them is so strong that particles cannot move freely but can only vibrate.

What are solid-state Matters?

Hence solid state has definite volume and shape.

They can change shape by force.

Particles are packed in regular order and repeating pattern in crystalline solids.

Solids are transformed into liquid by melting and vice versa by freezing.

Solids are directly converted to gases through a process known as sublimation and vice-versa through a deposition. This is the complete process of changing the phase of matter

Prepare for Science Fair Questions & Answers – States of matter model

  1. What are the 3 states of matter?
Solid, liquid and gases are three states of matter. However, in extreme environmental conditions, other states are plasma, neutron stars, and Bose-Einstein condensates.
  2. What are the 7 states of matter?
Ionized Plasma, Solid, Quark-Gluon Plasma, Gases, Bose-Einstein Condensate, liquid and Fermionic Condensate are seven states of matter.
  3. What substance can have three states of matter easily?
Water is the best example to possess three states of matter easily.
  4. Where is Bose Einstein condensate found?
Eric Cornell and Carl Wieman at the University of Colorado.
  5. What is the most common state of matter on earth system?
Solid, Liquid and Gas are the most common state of matter on the earth system.

Conclusions

States of matter model experiment help the students to understand the difference in structures of each state in densities of particles, how particles behave in each state.
